About this blog

Hi I'm Jonny and I am a
final year medical student studying in Birmingham, UK
newly qualified doctor working near Manchester, UK.

Medstudentwords started as a diary of my experiences in Tanzania in May and June 2014 but continues as a place to prattle on about things I think are interesting, or to record things I've done before I forget them. More recently it's also become a place to vent my growing frustrations with how the government is failing to protect the health service, and smaller day-to-day work frustrations too. The blog is supposed to be mostly about medicine but I'm not too strict with my inclusion criteria.

Disclaimer:
I put the letters on this blog into their current order by myself, the opinions expressed are mine alone. I've tried to be factually accurate but I'm frequently mistaken, I'll correct errors where I discover them.
Sometimes I illustrate the words with pictures pinched from Google images. If you find that I've stolen your photos and aren't happy with this, leave a comment to let me know and I'll promptly take them down.
If I write about patients I will change the names and stuff to make it mysterious/protect confidentiality.
Lastly, I alone take responsible for the many typos, spelling/grammar mistakes, and clumsy sentences that make up the content.
